1) As you have seen, the video is a cooking programme like the ones in the Gourmet Channel where you must answer the 10 questions from "The Scientific Chef" WHILE COOKING. Please, add subtitles because sometimes the sound is not very clear. This example video is too long. Make yours between 5 to 7 minutes long.
2) The video IS NOT about the menu, which has to be handed in in a computer file following all the guidances on any practical work (A4 paper, references, cover, badge etc). The menu has to include the dishes you designed and the explanation on why you included those ingredients. (please, write the names of the different courses correctly)
3) The chart can be done in a real chart and photographed or digitally. Don't use charts from internet because the group that cheats will get an #InstantOne
Please, be creative! Quarantine is already boring and dreadful... I gave you almost a month in the hope that you would make something really cool to make my day.
See you on Thursday at 10!!!

PS: This is the complete chart we worked on last class.
And the #Challenge:
1) Which is the only diet (as a way of eating, not of losing weight) that has scientific proved endorsement?
2) What kind of food does it include? Why?
3) Why is it that any diet highlighted in yellow is bad for us? Why shouldn't we leave meat out of our dish???
#Challenge2
There are so many wrong ideas in this message I have recived that I can't even start correcting it. Can you do it for me??

ReplyDelete1. The only diet that has a scientific proved endorsement is the Mediterranean diet
2. The kind of food allowed in this diet, following the idea of which kind of food you can eat more ans the one that you have to reduce, is:
-Eat frecuently: Vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, potatoes, whole grains, breads, herbs, spices, fish, seafood and extra virgin olive oil.
-Eat with moderation: Poultry, eggs, cheese and yogurt.
-Eat only rarely: Red meat.
3. The problem with the highlighted diets is that they tell us to avoid eating some important food, such as meat and eggs. Keeping away from these foods will be bad for our body as among its properties we find:
Iron: necessary to oxygenate all the cells of the body.
Zinc: aids in tissue formation.
Selenium: protects the body from harmful substances.
Vitamin B12: helps the formation of red blood cells and the maintenance of the central nervous system.
Proteins: strengthen the defense system and repair, build and maintain muscle mass in good condition.
All these properties have a big value for our body so if we stop eating meat it will be difficult for us to produce them and continue with the different functions.
If people don’t produce iron they start suffering from anemia (a disease produced when our brain can not receive so much oxygen and it starts producing anaerobic respiration). This disease is affecting most of the people that follow vegan or vegetarian diet.

As you said there are A LOT of wrong ideas in the second picture. Firstly it show us that the ph of some products are not the correct ones, such us lemon which has a ph of 3 and not of 9.9 . Secondly there is no food that can prevent us from having coronavirus (COVID-19). Last but not least, by eating alkiline food our body will not alcalince it, because when the bolus reach the stomach, and the name is transformed into chyme, its ph will become acidic as the stomach has a ph of 2.
